Sponsored by the International FPIES Association (I-FPIES), the Trainee Travel Grants are designed to assist and encourage full-time research trainees to travel to prestigious national and international meetings and conferences to present their work, network and learn. Each year, four trainee grants of up to $1,000 are available over two rounds of competition. Candidates must display an interest in and commitment to the advancement and research of Food Protein-Induced Enterocolitis Syndrome (FPIES).

Applicant Eligibility To be eligible, an applicant must be a full-time research trainee (Masters or Doctoral student, Postdoctoral Fellow, or Allied Health Professional) who is currently working in allergy/immunology or gastroenterology and has a strong interest in the research and advancement of FPIES. Trainees may only receive the award once to attend the Annual Meeting of one of the following organizations: American Academy of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (AAAAI), American College of Allergy, Asthma & Immunology (ACAAI), North American Society for Pediatric Gastroenterology, Hepatology and Nutrition (NASPGHAN), and European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI). Only one applicant from each medical institution may receive this award annually.

In addition, the following eligibility criteria apply: · Applicant must present an FPIES paper or poster at a national or international meeting or conference, · Applicant must be the first author on the accepted abstract, · Applicant must be traveling within the dates specified below, and · Applicant must attach a copy of the conference program, agenda or official letter of acceptance showing acceptance of abstract.

Application Process To apply for a 2015 I-FPIES Trainee Travel Grant, please submit the following:

· Copy of letter from Program Director confirming status,

· Brief description of applicant's interest in FPIES,

· A paragraph on short-term and long-term career goals and plans;

· Projected expenses with specific expense information/receipts/bills, and

· Completed Trainee Travel Grant Application.

Applications that meet all of the above criteria will then be entered into a blinded review. Only applicants who have been selected will receive notification. Successful applicants will be asked to submit receipts for reimbursement; advances are not permitted. Expenses without receipts will not be reimbursed.

Eligible Travel Expenses The following is a list of eligible expenses under this travel funding. This list is not meant to be exhaustive but to outline some of the common expenses incurred.

· Airfare by the most direct route, economy class only,

· Accommodations: Campus residence or economical hotel (sharing rooms encouraged),

· Conference/course registration,

· Ground transportation,

· Ticketed conference presentations specific to non-IgE-mediated food allergy and FPIES.
