When you are faced with the challenges of Food Protein-Induced Enterocolitis Syndrome (FPIES), you need to be able to turn to a trusted source for support and guidance.
The International FPIES Association (I-FPIES) will keep fighting to find you answers and advance the condition. The contributions of our supporters are vital to these efforts, and we want to share just how much your help has had an impact on those who are living with FPIES.
Your support helps educate caregivers and the medical community across the globe. 2017 has been a breakthrough year for our community, with last spring’s release of the first official consensus guidelines for the diagnosis and management of FPIES. In late summer, the FPIES guidelines were distributed to more than 2,000 pediatric allergists and gastroenterologists in the United States, and we continue to spread the word through our worldwide network. The guidelines have been a four-year labor of love for this organization, and they wouldn’t be possible without the dedication of our global team of medical advisors.
Your support also helps I-FPIES fund groundbreaking research studies that are improving our understanding of FPIES and solving its many puzzles. The International FPIES Association is currently funding a promising multi-center study that looks at the genetics and pathophysiology of FPIES. We cannot wait to share the results of this study with you — please stay tuned!
In this season of giving, we hope that you will think of I-FPIES and consider donating today. Each gift creates a future in which FPIES patients and families have the hope of receiving more effective treatment and diagnostic tools and, eventually, a cure.
With wishes for a safe and peaceful holiday season,
Fallon Schultz
P.S. You may notice that we’ve updated our website. The changes we have made are for you, our FPIES community, in the hopes that it will better communicate and connect you with the work that I-FPIES is doing. It starts with a simplified home page and navigation menu so you can quickly get to what interests you. Please take a few minutes to look around and share your feedback with us at contact@fpies.org. We’ll continue to make enhancements to the website so visit us again and again!
